In the coming year I REALLY need to use my camera more.
Recently someone talked to me about how photographs and art translate into one another and how practising with a camera is the same as drawing every night to improve and grow as an artist and it just made me realise how very much I need to use my camera MORE!!
Whilst researching in to the theme of dreams I came across these few LOVELY quotes on dreams:-
“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
― Dr. Seuss
Dreaming permits each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane every night of our lives. ~William Dement
The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don't know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened. ~James Arthur Baldwin
Now, sleep well and have a VERY MERRY Christmas tomorrow all ^__^

Santa Clause is coming to town
Always, at this time of year I can't help but to think - I wonder how many resolutions I'm going to break next year. Perhaps not the most positive thought but ....
Next year is gonna be a big one and I fully intend to make it a good one - Or at least as good as can be hoped for with life drama's taken in to account.
I've already decided on my kind-of new years resolutions:
+ Aim to write ATLEAST one blog entry a week while in college and more when leaving
+ Aim to do ALOT more with my camera!!
+ Get to my goal weight
+ Keep a small Journal or sorts to write a lil' something in everyday since my memory is rapidly turning to complete mush and I need one to remember my life :P
+ Following on from the LAST one - to FINALLY start my scrapbooks ( I won't go in to details :P)
+ To actually try and socialize more and bring myself out of this hermit state- Just because I can never afford ANYTHING doesn't mean I can't have friends :P
+ To get published in a magazine or online feature ^-^
And i'm sure there are more but I'll have to come back to this list when my brain mushy-ness has disappeared again.
UPDATE:- This is IN ACTUAL FACT the perfect picture for me that a friend sent me thinking it would be :P -
Moving on to a much more positive theme - CHRISTMAAASS ^-^
This year I have no-one to spend my christmas with, no-where to go, an empty house and no decorations. On the plus side though on the 27th Rhys and I will have our very own christmas just like last year.. except better :P
And that's all I really need to make me a happy girly :)
I'm going to take FAAARR too many photographs, drink eggnog from a carton cause I can't find it anywhere else and watch movies into the late hours of the night and when the christmas glittery fog is removed from my peaceful, languid state of mind then I'll lackadaisically force myself on to the cross-trainer and in to a new year with a new way of thinking . One which - I'm going to keep to myself for the time being :P
over the next few days I'm going to be posting some of ym own personal DIY christmas gems (i.e. the food and gifts I'm making this year) for your own personal amusement :P
Love always,
Luciie Panda

Attitude clothing reminiscence
Have you ever experienced a time in your education/career where you've felt like you're putting everything you have into something - burning your wick at both ends, so to speak- and yet never seem to be getting far enough?
It's 10h45pm right now and I've been wanting to sleep since about 7pm. My legs have been shaky all day and my eye twitching from exhaustion. I come home, do work all evening then at the end of the night feel the DISsatisfaction of knowing that I've only just put a dent in ym never ending list of things to do and, to make things worse, now on top of the work I already have to do we've now been told that they expect more from us.
Don't get me wrong, I'm ALOT stronger this year then last year and I will get through this course and hopefully get really good grades but my body is exhausted and the reality that I only have these last 2 weeks ( including this week) to finish EVERYTHING on my to-do list is starting to seriously FREAK ME OUT!
Enough of the negativity though and on to new things :)
Over the next few weeks I'm going to try start using my blog more and more and getting into blog entries that I actually planned to do right from the get-go.
For now I'll probably be asleep in about twenty minutes and don't think i have the energy to keep trying for much longer but I want to leave you with a few pictures and a couple of questions;
I spent ages today thinking about exactly what I could put in this blog entry today - who's spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection to rave about or model/ photographer to adore and then I realised that I'm actually just going to put in a couple of items that are on my christmas wishlist and I can guarantee that they won't be to everyone's taste but here are a few things I saw in my delivered 'attitude clothing' mags that I loved <3
Every time I visit attitudeclothing it bring me back to 2007 and, in many respects, make me miss those days. Now, the likelihood of me buying any of the following things I show you is about 5% .Why? - Mostly money I suppose :/
I think this dress is absolutely gorgeous but my worry is that my bazoomba's are rather on the large style to getting them in to that would be less 'glamourous and sexy' and more slutty..eep! :/
If there were ONE outfit that you had to wear for a whole month- in winter- ( shock horror) what would it be?
or - for a more realistic question.. if you had to wear ONE designer for a whole month ... Who?
Love Always

Fabric Manipulation 2
So along with simply finding designers that incorporate certain elements of fabric manipulation I found a few that just found a way to go completely out of the box is amazing ways and so here's a little preview of some of their work :)
Iris Van Herpen
Viktor & Rolf
Along with their amazing pleated dresses in my previous blog entry Viktor & Rolf are permanently testing fashion boundaries and creating amazing pieces that, although I'd never wear, are like pieces of artwork ready for the world to enjoy

Fabric Manipulation
So after the last post having been kept in my drafts for almost two months I'm making sure that this post gets put out to the world today... I hope!
So recently I've done A LOT of fabric manipulation research for college and wanted to share a bit of it to the general public as I've come across some truly interesting pieces of clothing that I would've otherwise never found.
Valentino
Pleating is a type of fold formed by doubling fabric back upon itself and securing it in place. Pleating is commonly used in garments.
Marios Schwab
Viktor & Rolf
Folding/Origami
Mauricio Velasquez Posada
Amilo Hrustic
Gareth Pugh
And- for the more feminine take
White Cashmere Collection
There are obviously far more methods of fabric manipulation and FAR MORE designers out there incorporating them but there's a few to get you started :)
Now for my 3rd blog entry of the day that is coming up after this one I'll be showcasing a few designers in particular that go to NEW LENGTHS when it comes to fabric manipulation and I think you'll REALLY enjoy them ^_^

Boning of Fabric
Boning consists of rigid/ semi-rigid strips that provide structure and support to garments worn close to the body. Boning prevents the garment from sagging down and instead creates form and shape.
Mary Katrantzou
Alexander Mcqueen

Origami is the art of paper folding. But it's amazing to see how many designers use this as inspiration to their own collections.
Alexandra Verschueren
